Hand-cut Mexican tissue paper garland Originally designed as a symbol announcing a religious celebration (Day of the Dead, Holy Week, pilgrimages, etc.), papel picado "cut paper" is a decorative element made of tissue paper, the result of the inspiration of artisan hands whose patterns have adapted over the years to different types of festivities. Families in the city of San Salvador have been dedicated for generations to preparing this inherent element of Mexican celebrations. Each garland measures 5 meters and has 10 pennants. Each pennant measures 45 x 35 cm.
