There's something about leaves in the fall that just SPEAK to me — the colors, the curvy lines... For this particular painting, I sat outside on a surprisingly nice day in December and spent a delightful few hours sketching my coral bells and hostas. I started with the heart shaped leaf and meditated on the women in my life who were going through tough health problems. (Several women my age have encountered some really hard medical news in the past year.) I drew and thought of them: in their beauty, fragility, and strength despite it all. I hope that this card can be used in a myriad of ways. I think it's a nice design whether it's used to acknowledge tough medical news, or just as a simple, gorgeous anytime or thank you card. Also, William Morris is an amazing pattern marker and artist to whom I owe some credit and inspiration to for this card. 😊
