We are like butterflies who flutter for a day and think it is forever. Carl Sagan was a huge influence on more than one generation to see the beauty of science as well as a contributor to the cutting edge science of his time. When I was a kid, I alway would look at smaller animals and think about their lifespan and what that means to their perception of time. A whole life span in only a few days. I imagine a more advanced being might look at our temporal existence the same way.
