My Pine Incense is made with real pine wood, Pinon pine needles and Pinon pine resin. Each stick, while only 4" long, burns for about 40 minutes. The only other ingredients in my pine incense besides ground parts of the pine tree, are makko (a bark that acts like charcoal) and acacia gum mixed with water as a binder. These create a "dough" that I layer onto raw bamboo sticks or roll into cones. There are absolutely no hidden ingredients. Celtic and German ancestors believed the pine tree to be a source of protection from negative energies. According to older herb books, pine strengthens the nerves and gives energy, courage, and emotional strength. In some religions, the pine tree is a symbol of light and life.
