Description
These earrings are shaped as a crescent ornament inspired by the Quimbaya Culture of Colombia, known for their clean geometry, smooth surfaces, and careful proportion. A refined piece that works just as well in the office as it does anywhere else. In pre-Columbian cultures, the butterfly symbolized transformation, the soul, and the cycle of life and death. Among Colombia's goldsmith traditions, the motif appears in two forms: as naturalistic figures with outstretched wings, and as the elegant crescent shapes of narigueras, nose ornaments worn by high-status individuals whose abstracted form traces back to the butterfly's open wings. • Stud earrings • 24k Gold-Plated Base • Pierced with titanium posts • Pre-Columbian Culture: Quimbaya • Pre-Columbian Region: Mid Cauca, Colombia • Handcrafted • Clean with a damp cloth and dry with a soft, clean cloth.
