A long time ago, when travelers still moved on horseback or on foot, there was a very busy road south of Sicily. Those who found themselves in that part of the island never missed the chance to take the road leading to Modica, to taste its famous chocolate. One day, an unscrupulous merchant - also known as "the merchant of false memories" - seeing the comings and goings of people, tried to exploit it for his business. He set up a stall and tried to sell travelers old, tasteless chocolate but, unfortunately for him, he didn't have much success. Furious, he then decided to take revenge. A few months earlier, he had robbed a dying old wizard and, among potions, spells, and magical objects, he had found the sacks of oblivion. It was enough to open them in someone's face to confuse their sense of time.
