Author Biography Joe Lane was a pen name of Joseph Eichberger (1911-2009), a World War II Navy veteran and Chicago Fire Department engineer whose cartooning career included pre-Golden Age comic books as well as a long run producing cartoons about nuns, priests, and the faithful for the Catholic magazine Extension.
