Sodium Coco-sulfate (SCS) or sodium C12-C18 Fatty alcohol sulfate in English (CAS 68955-19-1) is a plant-derived anionic surfactant (coconut/palm kernel oil) in the form of a solid granule. It is produced by a sulphation reaction of fatty alcohol derived from coconut oil. It has good washing and foaming properties. It is a product that is easily biodegradable. It is mainly used for the formulation for body care but also in domestic or industrial cleaners. It is a bio-based alternative to lauryl ether sulfate (LES) or sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). It is one of the products that can be used in the ECOLABEL and ECOCERT formulas.
