Description
RARE, collectible vintage old stone stock from New Mexico! Turquoise has been used in jewelry nearly as long as it’s been known to humanity. Turquoise is also used as a ceremonial or decorative stone, a practice dating back to ancient times. It’s been used in Native American crafts and jewelry for centuries. It was sacred to many tribes, including the Apache, Navajo, Pueblo, and Zuni. For couples honoring 11 years together, turquoise stones create a sense of calm and wonder. In need of "something blue" that's really special? Look no further! Stone origin: USA; east of Silver City New Mexico. The Tyrone mine produced great quantities of hard, deep and bright blue turquoise as well as pale spring green turquoise. Turquoise from this mine is highly collectible. The Tyrone mine hasn't produced turquoise since the 1980s, when the owners switched their method of copper mining to a kind that crushes and acid washes the stone which destroys the surrounding turquoise. As with many turquoise mines, its original purpose was for copper mining. Turquoise is usually a secondary mineral of a copper mine. Our hand-selected, extra quality stones are intuitively sourced in person at the Tucson and Quartzsite Gem Shows from only the most reputable individual suppliers. Please allow for slight variations in color, shape and size of the stones. Each stone is unique! You will receive: one matched and polished pair in a fancy gift box. * Stones average ~1.5cm at their largest. * Each nugget averages 15-25 carats * Easy-to-use, silver-tone, bullet-back hardware. The hardware is countersink drilled-in to the stone. Each stone is then extra-securely attached to its hardware with aircraft grade bonding/jeweler's cement. The reverse attachment point is then lightly coated in clear resin to act as a "bumper" to help prevent damage while wearing or if dropped. ► HOW TO WEAR! The simple-to-use bullet rod rotates 90 degrees for easy fastening and security. To put on, just turn the bullet vertically to pass it through the cufflink holes then flatten it back to a horizontal position to secure the cufflink in place. The stone part of the cufflink should go on the outside of your shirt’s cuff-holes, and will be seen on the outside of your body when your arm is to the side. Now you can show off how awesome you are! Check out our gemstone collection here! https://www.faire.com/product-based-collection/pbc_swhpvd7nxk
