Cushions with a soul — that is what these rare cushions are, made from upcycled kantha hangings 30 to 50 years old. Each hanging used to make these cushions was created by hand–stitching together several layers of vintage saris. The stitches are done by hand, mixing threads of different colors which creates beautiful contrasts between the fabric and the colorful stitch lines. These pieces are the very essence of the upcycling work we do with artisans in India to value local heritage and women's craftsmanship, while combating textile overconsumption. These perfectly imperfect pieces (they sometimes bear small colorful repair patches or may be made from fabric patchworks) will bring an extra touch of soul to your decor. Each of the hangings from which these cushions were made was found and selected by Lilo in India. One hanging makes between 2 and 6 cushions, so each piece from the same hanging will be slightly different depending on the area cut. The item you receive may therefore vary slightly from the pictured one. 50 x 50 cm, cover only.
