Made from the stems of date palm fronds, these raw, lightweight, handmade palm baskets are woven by an artisan in the Jaipur, India region. Once the leaves are removed from the palm trees and dried in the sun, they are stripped down to the stems and these stems are sliced and separated into long strips. With these stem fibers in hand, the artisan begins to weave.
