Her varied color tones and markings make this dairy cow extremely interesting to paint and maybe was my biggest test of all the cow paintings I did for the book ONCE THERE WERE NO COWS. In the book, this is the last dairy breed that God created, and I thought it was fitting that it was a dusk scene - I really love the compelling setting of this piece.
