Rose salt from Bolivia is mined in the Andean plateaus, where it is stored under a thick volcanic layer, protected from environmental influences. It is traditionally mined by hand and then transported to the lowlands via original Inca trails. Don't worry — even though it looks like rose quartz, it only gets this color from a particularly high iron content. Other important minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium give it its fine, mild taste, which goes perfectly with poultry, fish and meat.
