The Tiko Tiered Necklace is a stunning handmade necklace crafted by our artisans in Northern Uganda, combining intricate paper beads and mini glass beads made from recycled Coke bottles to create an eclectic, layered look. The name "Tiko" means "bead" in Acholi, the language spoken by our artisans in Pader, Uganda. Each layer is a testament to the craftsmanship and creativity of the women who make them. The necklace features an adjustable design, with a sliding gold bead on a braided leather cord, allowing you to customize the fit. With tassels hanging at the back, it ensures that even the back of the necklace is styled with elegance. Each necklace comes with a foldover necklace tag and includes a story card that shares the journey of one of the women impacted by our program. ABOUT US The Bead Project is a program of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The Women of Pader Uganda. We partner with women artisans in Northern Uganda who create handmade, fair trade, ethically sourced jewelry using traditional techniques and locally sourced materials. All artisans are paid upfront for their work, ensuring a reliable and dignified income that supports their families and community. 100% of proceeds from The Bead Project are reinvested into our nonprofit programs that support holistic care, entrepreneurship, education, spiritual development, and long-term sustainability in a post-conflict region.
