While working on this card, my mom and younger brother both brought up the wonder of mushrooms in conversation with me! As I was looking at different forms of mushrooms (a variety of which are an illustrator's dream 😍), I came across this amazing mini-documentary on YouTube about Stephen Axford - a man who started photographing mushrooms as a hobby and now travels around the world helping document the native mushrooms. He is particularly interested in photographing glowing mushrooms. (And the time lapses are amazing to watch 🤩.) After coming across that video, all the mushrooms in this card design suddenly became bioluminescent. 😅 It's a really worthwhile mini-documentary, so do yourself a favor and watch it here.
