Bring fast-climbing color to fences, trellises, and arbors with morning glories. These vigorous annual vines produce trumpet-shaped blooms that open with the morning sun, adding a classic cottage-garden look to sunny spaces. 250 morning glory seeds: Ipomoea purpurea, a fast-growing annual climbing vine. Climbing color: Twining vines can reach 6-10 feet or more, covering fences, trellises, arbors, and mailbox posts. Trumpet-shaped blooms: Flowers open in the morning and typically fade by afternoon, with new buds opening each day from summer into fall. Garden and container growing: Suitable for sunny beds, fence lines, and large outdoor containers with a trellis or support. Freshness you can count on: Seeds are stored in temperature-controlled refrigeration to preserve freshness and support dependable germination and vigorous seedling starts. Easy sowing: Sow seeds directly outdoors after all danger of frost has passed, about ½ inch deep. Soaking seeds overnight or nicking the seed coat can help speed germination. Expect germination in roughly 7-14 days under suitable conditions. Merchandising: Pairs naturally with trellises, garden twine, patio planters, and other climbing annuals such as sweet peas and scarlet runner beans. Growing essentials: Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, and provide a support for the vines to climb. Water regularly while plants establish, then allow soil to dry slightly between waterings. Flowering varies with climate and growing conditions.
