The natural base substance of all Auroshikha incense sticks is sandalwood powder. Added to this is the ground tree bark of the Indian laurel (Litsea glutinosa) with its excellent adhesive properties. Depending on the variety, natural resins and ground coconut shell charcoal are also added. The resulting dough is traditionally hand-rolled onto hand-cut bamboo sticks and later dipped in fragrant, high-quality essences.
