Beautiful antique kantha hanging made from vintage upcycled saris hand-selected piece by piece by Lilo in Jaipur (no unpleasant surprises regarding quality or colors on arrival!) The saris are sewn together by hand by women in villages in Bengal and northern India to form a slightly quilted fabric (it’s the ancestor of our boutis and quilts). Because the front and back are made from separate saris, they are completely different, giving you a 2-in-1 hanging. Note that this traditional artisanal technique incorporates the use of small repair patches when necessary. This contributes to the uniqueness and authenticity of the kantha. Note: signs of wear present (taken into account in the listed price).
