Handmade with foraged stoneware clay collected in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Large sake cup or small teacup size. The glazes are made of local stones and wood ash, and are based on a glaze combination in Southern Japan known as "chosen Karatsu" where the white glaze runs in small rivulets into the darker glaze under it. Thrown loosely for an organic, slightly undulating shape. Fired in a soda kiln, which makes for further variation in the surface. About 3" in height.
