His family runs a mill in Honduras (mills facilitate the final preparation of coffee beans on behalf of growers who don’t have the means to prepare it themselves). He imports coffee for them, and brings the coffee up from Miami in the back of his pickup for us every couple of months. Emil’s family is a philanthropic force in the region in solidarity with the growers they serve. By buying coffee from them we’re able to join in their work.
