European goblets, Jingdezhen horse cups, and Persian tall goblets all influenced the shapes, while ensuring each design remains distinctly suited for Japanese sake. - SUBOMI - A narrowing shape that helps concentrate aromas. [About the Texture] To preserve the natural qualities of the porcelain stone and glaze, the surface may show brown specks (iron content in the clay or glaze) or a slightly rough texture from fine particles. The glaze is intentionally left minimally stirred, so iron powder and particles remain visible on the surface. Rather than a bleached white, the finish aims for the natural whiteness of the material itself. With continued use, the surface texture will gradually change.
