Poster - Make Art Not War. Make Art Not War. Shepard Fairey 2005. Since 1989, Shepard has been "creating quality dissent" by haunting consumer culture with a street art campaign featuring an omnipresent Andre the Giant. This offset poster (originally a silkscreen print), instead of visual satire, uses an altered, classic antiwar phrase and early rock and roll poster design to create an appealing work. It couldn't, of course, be more timely.
