Wholesale "Sliced Mushrooms" Original Painting

There’s something comforting about the rhythm of prep work—slicing, arranging, and getting everything ready to cook. Mushrooms, with their soft texture and earthy scent, are especially satisfying in that process. They’re subtle on their own, but they take on flavor beautifully, adding depth and substance without needing much attention. Fresh, everyday ingredients like this are some of my favorite things to paint. This sliced mushroom painting is part of my Produce series in oil, and I’m so excited to share it with you. It’s a 6x6" painting on flat (1/8") hardboard, created with loose, painterly brushstrokes that highlight the forms, edges, and quiet variation within the sliced mushrooms. The brushwork has a light texture, and the piece is varnished, arriving unframed and ready for its new home. Fun facts about mushrooms — Mushrooms are low in calories and high in antioxidants.
