The patches on her dress and apron have subtle colors. The shape is based on the original Lise figurine from Kay Bojesen’s archive, which is simple and minimalist, but full of life and soul. The Little Match Girl stands at 5.7" high and is made from FSC®-certified beech wood. The manual production of painting and printing has been undertaken with the great precision and care typical of Kay Bojesen's wooden figurines. Kay Bojesen was able to turn wood into original stories like no other. With his deep passion for craftsmanship and eye for detail, over the years he created an imaginative world of figures and objects, each one with its own unique story. As such, he became one of Denmark’s greatest craftsmen, and his designs will continue to hold a firm place in Danish design history.
