Every sheet of paper passes through the machine 2-4 times—once for each color. The Riso process uses separate drums of environmentally-friendly, soy-based ink for each color pass. The process is very similar to silk-screen printing, but much faster. This is due to the machine’s ability to run paper at high speed while also keeping everything in registration. This ensures that the separate stencils align to complete a multi-colored design. This unique process, combined with the higher speeds, yields a beautiful art print at a very affordable price.
