Bay Area Redwood’s natural wood products are custom, unique pieces; no two pieces are the same. For this reason, product characteristics like grain pattern, live edge, and even exact dimensions can vary. For items with a sustainable custom blend oil coat, a natural patina will develop over time. The original color may fade as oil dries due to sun and air exposure, but the process is entirely natural. You can choose to continually develop your wood product’s natural patina for a rustic, natural look. If you’d like to restore the vibrant colors and defined grain patterns of your slab, you can easily apply a light coat of coconut oil every 6 months.
