The belly is entirely covered with a richly detailed naturalistic decoration: several birds with finely rendered plumage, perched on oak branches with dense leaves, in a wooded landscape of mauve and ochre tones. A jay with cobalt-blue wings and a tawny belly, a brown-and-yellow robin, a mauve-breasted bird with golden highlights. Each feather is drawn with a precision that attests to careful chromolithography, applied under the glaze. The rim and base are highlighted with a brick-red line. The piece measures approximately 20 cm high by 12 cm in diameter at the base. The glaze shows the fine, regular crazing characteristic of mid-century earthenware, which gives the surface that lively texture contemporary reproductions cannot imitate.
