Description
Made with genuine Bioglitter® — selected from ranges meeting leading European environmental standards. Rainforest Bioglitter® reflects the lush canopy of leaves, flowing rivers and deep shades of nature found in some of the most diverse environments on Earth. This sparkling blend captures the feeling of sunlight filtering through tropical foliage and water winding through dense forests. The shifting green and blue tones create a lively sparkle that feels both earthy and magical, bringing the beauty of wild landscapes into creative play. Perfect for painting, crafting, potion play, slime, playdough and imaginative nature-inspired art. Rainforest is part of our Elemental Collection, a palette inspired by the elements of the natural world. Each colour in the collection reflects a different aspect of nature, encouraging children to explore creativity through storytelling, colour and sensory play. Our Bioglitter® Selection Our glitter is made with genuine Bioglitter®, developed by Sigmund Lindner (SiLi) and derived from plant-based cellulose rather than conventional plastic. Traditional glitter is typically made from PET plastic, which does not biodegrade and contributes to long-term microplastic pollution. Bioglitter® replaces the plastic core with plant-derived cellulose, creating a plant-based alternative designed to help reduce this impact. Bioglitter® technology has been independently tested under internationally recognised OECD biodegradability standards and assessed by organisations including TÜV Austria and SGS, supporting its development as a more environmentally responsible alternative to conventional plastic glitter. Certain Bioglitter® ranges have also achieved TÜV Austria’s “OK biodegradable WATER” certification, a recognised European standard verifying that materials can biodegrade in natural freshwater environments through the action of microorganisms. This means the material has been tested to break down into natural components such as water, carbon dioxide and biomass, rather than persisting as plastic particles in the environment. Not all eco glitters are the same Many glitters marketed as eco, biodegradable or compostable are made from PLA (polylactic acid). While PLA is plant-derived, it typically requires industrial composting facilities to break down properly and may not biodegrade naturally in everyday environments. For Eco Art & Craft we carefully reviewed the available options and prioritised colours from the Bioglitter® ranges that meet the highest environmental standards available, including
