Loved for their unique weathered appearance, our Aged Clay Planters are hand thrown and made using original techniques and processes handed down through many generations and dynasties. Each planter is individually distressed using old clay and powdered moss is rubbed into the porous surface. The planters are then cured in acres of Chinese farmland where the moss begins to grow and the pots take on their characteristic antiqued and naturally weather appearance. Available in both antique black stone and red stone finishes, the colour, natural moss, and aging will vary from planter to planter. Truly wabi-sabi in nature, they are praised for their imperfections and wanted for their imperfectly aged appearance.
