Phenakite or phenacite is a fairly rare nesosilicate mineral consisting of beryllium orthosilicate. Its name comes from Ancient Greek: φέναξ, romanized: phénax, meaning "deceiver" due to its close visual similarity to quartz, named by Nils Gustaf Nordenskiöld in 1833. Every single piece picked has terminations or is a weighty piece, and can be priced between £15 -£30 per piece depending weather it is done by weight or quality. These pieces come from Brazil in an area that usually mines topaz. Some pieces are over 3cm in length which makes them great for lapidary cutting.
