Description
PHOTOGRAPH I took this picture at a classic car event in Slinfold in August 2019 HISTORY. The Jaguar 3.8S type was always depicted as the villain's getaway car in TV shows although in real life they reputedly used the Ford Transit. It had a six cylinder engine available in three sizes 2.4, 3.4 and 3.8 the faster of which had a top speed of 122mph and a 0-60mph of 10.2 seconds which was very respectable for the 1960s. Overall 26,000 vehicles were produced from 1963 to 1968 when it was replaced by the Jaguar 420.
