What is the difference between a wool underlay and a fitted sheet? You place our wool underlay on top of the mattress, with a (cotton) fitted sheet over it. This way you benefit from the advantages of merino wool while the fitted sheet remains easy to wash. A wool fitted sheet, like a regular fitted sheet, is pulled tightly around the mattress. Your little one then lies directly on the soft merino wool, although you can of course also choose to use a small blanket.
