Born from a simple keep built on a rocky outcrop in the middle of the 10th century, the castle of Pornic, with its elegant turrets and racy dungeons, no longer has anything to do with the original rustic building. Dominating the entrance to the port, the castle has long been one of the symbols of the city but also a bitter for sailors and the emblem of the city. However, it was only a matter of time for it to disappear from the landscape during the 19th century.
