Scandlights, our own brand of beautiful Welcome Home Lights. Meant to be displayed in a window in the Nordic tradition of brightening up the dark days of winter. This Scandlights Star was designed by L.R. Erickson. Our wooden star is: battery operated (it takes two AA batteries) Has a timer switch (6 hours on/ 18 hours off) Measurements: Height 9 Inches Width 12 Inches Depth 2 Inches A Scandinavian bright idea: The world’s first electric candelabra was invented in 1934 by 25-year-old Oscar Andersson of Gothenburg Sweden. Using discarded Christmas tree lights and a wooden candleholder, Oscar drilled holes for the lights and fitted the cords in a chiseled notch under the candleholder. That Christmas, the electric candleholder shone brightly in Oscar’s parents’ window. By 1937 they were first manufactured and became available for purchase. Fast forward to the 21st century, and this Scandinavian Christmas tradition lives on. Our Scandlights are battery operated and have long-lasting LED lights for safety and convenience, with no more outlets and plugs to worry about. Our welcome home lights are perfect for brightening any interior window on dark nights or adding a warm glow to your home.
