They buy the fleece and the Turkmen men and women sort through it for the wool to be spun into yarn. It is spun by hand by women in the cooperative, it is then dyed by men in the local community. The dying is done using 80-100% natural dyes and the natural fleece colors directly from the sheep. If they use commercial dyes they are the safe European wash fast dyes. They purchase the wool warp as it is machine spun to get the strong fiber.
