They dangle gently from a silver ear-wire that hooks in at the top. These are made very sturdy but might be a bit heavy on sensitive ears. Nickel Free, Lead Free & Cadmium Free Brass will oxidize to a slightly more antiqued color over time. If you would like it to be bright and shiny again, just use a little bit of lemon juice with a damp cloth, rinse well, and polish with a dry cloth, and voila! shiny brass again.
