His first art teacher was his father, Giorgio, who was a professor of drawing at the Instituto Technico in Treviso. Throughout his career, Alberto illustrated for such notable magazines as Dekorative Kunst and Jugend. Although known for his stark, macabre, and grotesque work with pen and ink, he also loved to create colorful scenes with pastels.
