Product Name : KATAHIRO ZEN Chef knife made of 67 layers Japanese VG-10 ladder damast, Fibercarbon (G10) with 3 rivets handle. Knife of the Year 2016 - Readers' Choice MESSER MAGAZIN 01/2016. The knives of the KATAHIRO KUBOTA ZEN series are manufactured using selected materials according to ancient tradition in highly qualified workshops. The Zen series from the designer knife edition is the successful symbiosis between Japanese forging art, traditional Far Eastern forms and European taste paired with high-tech materials. For the Zen series, knife designer and technical book author Ernst Siebeneicher-Hellwig chose to have Japanese high-performance steel forged into Damst steel blades in selected master forges. The pattern in the blades is reminiscent of Japanese meditation paintings where ink is dribbled into water.
