Warm and complex, our Golden Crystal Sugar comes from the Caribbean island of Barbados. Its tropical location provides the perfect amount of sunlight for growing sugarcane, and the coral-rich soils filter rainwater to produce exceptionally flavorful, coarse sugar crystals. Use as turbinado or raw sugar in beverages and baking, as a crunchy sanding sugar topping on cookies and other sweets or a rimming sugar for cocktail glasses. Barbados was the first Caribbean island to produce sugar, and this sugar represents the last remaining Caribbean coral-island sugar in production. As always, the spices are exquisite and an absolute must for anyone who likes to cook. I tried the Silk Chili and was not disappointed. The panela kettle cooked sugar is magic as well with amazing depth of flavor. The degree of quality is so far beyond the typical it can only be described as a brightness you could not previously imagine possible from a dry spice/herb. Only downside is my standards have shot through the roof because of these guys
