The Connemara Pony is a breed native to the West of Ireland. The region is harsh and windswept with gales from the Atlantic Ocean. Hence they are a very athletic, strong and resilient breed. Legend has it that the breed lines were strengthened with horses brought over by the Vikings 1,000 years ago and also perhaps by Andalusian horses shipwrecked off the Irish Coast from the Spanish Armada in 1588. These are truly formidable yet beautiful animals. They can live out in all weathers and digest a very diverse diet, from heather to grass to weeds, bark of trees and whatever is available in the landscape. It makes them stronger overall. Our beautiful soap is made with different natural clays for colouring and exfoliation. We then add essential oils for scent.
