Our summery, spicy Silk Chili Flakes come from Kahramanmaras, Turkey. Use in any recipe calling for marash pepper or Aleppo pepper — this will become your new favorite chili flake. Silk Chili is botanically identical to the Aleppo pepper, which has been cultivated in Syria for centuries. Due to the ongoing violence of the Syrian civil war, true Aleppo chili is unfortunately no longer available for import. Our Silk Chili Flakes are naturally preserved with a little bit of salt and sunflower seed oil to keep them fresh and flavorful. They have a warm, tomato-like flavor and a medium heat, similar to Espelette and Korean chilis. Use in any dish in need of a little excitement, from scrambled eggs to burgers to brownies. Perfect for cooking or finishing. Cooking Tips: Heat level: 5,000-10,000 Scoville units Sprinkle over pasta or pizza Add to soups and stews Use in a fresh fruit salad Garnish meat and veggies

Fulfilled quickly and great product, but the boxes were not packed full so many of them came smashed and one was fully ripped open. Thankfully no glasses were broken inside!

As always, the spices are exquisite and an absolute must for anyone who likes to cook. I tried the Silk Chili and was not disappointed. The panela kettle cooked sugar is magic as well with amazing depth of flavor. The degree of quality is so far beyond the typical it can only be described as a brightness you could not previously imagine possible from a dry spice/herb. Only downside is my standards have shot through the roof because of these guys

We love Burlap and Barrel and so do our customers. The packaging is enticing and the backstory of the company and their sourcing practices is both commendable and customers love hearing about it. The spices are out of this world and we cook with it almost exclusively in the workplace and our home.
