The serving tray has a white backing with printed Nina D logo. These hand cut paper strips were illustrated by hand using watercolour, weaved into a pattern. When photographed, creating a striking two dimensional effect that Nina is known for in all her tableware collections. Inspired by a Swedish traditional weaving method called Näver using bark from Birch trees. It was first introduced to me by my Grandfather who emigrated to Sweden from Telise village just outside Leningrad, during the Second World War.
