More about my earth pigment colors: The colors are made from self-collected earth or stones. For example, if I discover beautiful soil in the forest, I take a small amount home. This is finely ground with a hand mortar and, if desired, passed through a fine sieve. The resulting powder is mixed for painting, sometimes simply with water or with a binder if needed. I deliberately use the different grain sizes that result from varying the intensity of grinding and sieving. This creates a natural structure in the painting.
