Bayou Brothers recommend the following proteins of your choice for our Gumbo Starter: Andouille sausage, chicken thighs, shrimp, crawfish, oysters, crab, redfish, and tilapia. *When comparing Bayou Brothers Gumbo to Cookwell Gumbo, the biggest difference is in the consistency and a few ingredients. To both you'll add your desired protein to prepare. With Bayou, it's a darker roux and you'll need to add some stock and hot sauce. Cookwell Gumbo has a clam juice and chicken stock base.
