Great Shearwater, Ardenna gravis The Great Shearwater is a symbol of the open ocean. Like the Albatross, they never come to land and are always way offshore. Whenever I fish for pelagics like tuna, billfish & sharks we see these birds gliding just above the water's surface with their long wings and I know we are way offshore.
