A substantial traditional five-decade Catholic rosary, designed and handmade in Scotland from dark maple, knotted rope and richly worked bronze. Created during the eighth centenary year of the Transitus of Saint Francis, it combines simple Franciscan materials with original, highly detailed metalwork. The double-sided centre medal shows Saint Francis meeting the wolf in a woodland encircled by birds and fish. Its reverse bears lilies, bees and the words “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.” The large Tau cross places Saint Francis at its centre, with doves around him and his cloak becoming the cross itself; a bee appears on the reverse. Details: • Five-decade Catholic rosary • Maple, rope and bronze • Approx. 65cm circumference • Approx. 45g • Tau cross: 5cm high × 4cm wide • Original double-sided medal and cross • Handmade in Paisley, Scotland • Made for regular prayer and everyday wear
