Store your treasures within this hand-crafted Kioa basket design. Our baskets are handwoven with 100% natural fibers. Sasa (coconut palm spine) is harvested and split carefully into small sticks, clustered into bundles, and wrapped with voivoi (pandanus) leaf into a woven basket. Initially, 37 people migrated from Vaitupu to live on Kioa Island; more than 235 people followed within a decade. We aim to support ongoing market access for first, second, and third-generation Kioa artisans to help protect and promote their traditional skills and knowledge.
