These hand-painted clay animal figures are inspired by creatures found in Japanese nature and folklore. Each one has its own charm and meaning. Note: These figures are sensitive to moisture and should be kept away from direct contact with water. Kajika – A frog native to Japan’s mountain streams, known as the "diva of clear waters" for its beautiful call. Shika – A deer regarded as a sacred animal and divine messenger in Japanese tradition. Mutsugoro – A mudskipper found only in Kyushu’s Ariake and Yatsushiro Seas. Karasu – A crow, seen as a clever and lucky creature. This one amusingly holds a golf ball in its beak. Higurashi – A cicada known for its nostalgic, gentle song at dawn and dusk. Aka Ushi – “Red Cow.” A bright red cow figure with a traditional and charming presence.
