PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS & CARE • Material: Handmade grolleg porcelain • Dimensions: Approx. 6.75" round, 0.5" tall • Food, dishwasher, and microwave safe THE ARTISAN PROCESS & DESIGN • Slab-built & hand-shaped: Individually formed from a slab of clay, pressed into a round wooden form for its shape, then carefully moved to a drying board. • Trimmed & rounded: Once leather-hard, the plate is trimmed and the sides are rounded by hand. • Hand-painted cherry blossom design: Once bone-dry, the plate is sponged clean, then hand-painted with red cherry blossoms on the interior and underside — a motif I've been painting since I returned to pottery about 12 years ago, evolving into its present rendition. • Clear glazed interior: Finished with a clear glaze for a glossy shine, then fired in an electric oxidation kiln. • Hand-sanded finish: After the final firing, the bottom and outer sides are hand-sanded using progressively finer 400, 800, and 1500 grit diamond pads for an incredibly silky, smooth feel. Made by hand in small batches in my Denver studio — no AI, no mass production, just one potter and 12 years of practice behind every brushstroke.
