Organic | Caffeinated | Plastic-Free Yerba Mate Tea Bags by Portal Tea Yerba Mate No. 44 is a simple tea with a rich history in South America. It’s been used for centuries as a spiritual tool, a social ritual, and medicine, though now it’s consumed because Yerba Mate No. 44 is delicious. Yerba Mate No. 44 tastes incredibly earthy, with herbaceous, slightly vegetal notes towards the end. While it’s not traditionally modified with cream or sugar, Yerba Mate No. 44 truly shines with a touch of honey or sugar and acts as a refreshing eye-opener when iced. Ultimately, the massive hit of caffeine (and mateine, but that’s a story for another time) that comes from Yerba Mate No. 44 is its largest draw — though it’s tasty on its own accord.
